How does it feel to be a person whose work is losing its meaning in the world? How can one be a messenger for the Academy of Sciences’ Hydrometeorological Institute at a time when everything we need to know about the weather is just a click away? What’s the point of all this anymore? Inspired by Zdeněk Svěrák’s short story, this monodrama confronts contemporary reality with the absurdity of a profession that no longer has a place in the age of the Internet with humour and kindness. The hero of the comedy is a man who cannot resist the temptation to mystify listeners in a live radio broadcast. His initially innocent play turns into a theatrical story in which the hero, thanks to his charm and irony, becomes a mirror of our own insignificance. Nothing will be the same after the arrival of a messenger from the Hydrometeorological Institute on the radio.
