An absurd puppet production of one actress and one plastic duck. In this bold work focusing on environmental issues, you and a duck experience a story that begins with a real event. In 1992, a shipping container full of plastic toys, much of it yellow ducks, fell off a cargo ship during a storm. Thanks to them, oceanographers have been able to describe how ocean currents work. But our heroine is different, special. She doesn’t want to jump out of the container, she wants to find the friend she was made for, but she falls into the clutches of the evil dirty Denis. The play, full of humour, forms a contrast with the serious themes that gives the performance power, dynamism and inner tension. The main character’s witty yet tender songs offer a penetrating insight into her inner self as a living being, wanting to be useful but facing harsh realities. In the story we encounter themes such as food waste, plastic pollution of water, toxic waste discharged from factories, tanker crashes in the pursuit of profit, the struggle for followers and profit from the disaster or greenwashing itself – the abuse of ecological themes for the benefit of the world of consumerism.
