The Wandering Girl – I Am Dulcinea the Knight. The era of male knights is a thing of the past. Don Quixote sits at home sipping tea, while a new character enters the scene: Dulcinea, a 21st-century knight. century. A lone warrior who, as a woman, takes on the knightly role — embarking on a journey with her only squire to reclaim her lover’s honor and defy a bleak, meaningless world. How long can she fight against windmills? Who and what is still worth fighting for? Is it still possible to remain a moral being? The performance is inspired by the poetry of contemporary Hungarian writer István Kemény. Based on his work, Noémi Szántusz created her own story of Dulcinea — in a new, emerging genre: a theatrical performance in verse.
